  1. League Structure
  • League size will consist of 32 Teams split up into two (2) conferences, and four (4) divisions per conference with four (4) teams per division.
  • Team names and logos (Example: Vikings, Vikings Helmet) are to remain in place, but owner may change location (Example: Minnesota to Milwaukee) as he or she chooses.
  • Owners may request which franchise they would like to run upon signup.  The commissioner will do his best to fill your request.
  • League format is H2H (Head to Head).  Head to head is one opponent per week per team.  A win is awarded to the highest scoring team in the matchup
  • Regular Season Schedule is randomly determined by myfantasyleague.com
  • The regular season will run from weeks 1-12. Each team will play their division rivals twice a year and the rest of the schedule will be randomly decided via league software. Each team will have a doubleheader week in week 12 for a total of 13 regular season matchups.
  • The playoffs will run from Week 13 to Week 16
  1. Inaugural Draft
  • Inaugural Draft Picks, future draft picks, and drafted players MAY BE TRADED before and during the Inaugural Draft.  However the trades MUST have no more than ten (10) draft picks and/or players per team.  Trades involving more than 10 picks or players per side will be automatically rejected by the commissioner.
  • Future draft picks, and drafted players MAY BE TRADED after the Inaugural Draft.  However the trades MUST have no more than ten (10) draft picks and/or players per team.  Trades involving more than 8 picks or players per side will be automatically rejected by the commissioner.
  • Roster limit will be increased to 65 players after the Inaugural Draft, and will be in effect until August 29th @ 10:00am EST, or as soon as the draft is over.  Whichever comes first.
  • The Inaugural Drafts is a serpentine (snake) style draft with 3rd Round Reversal (3RR).  3RR drafts help balance the talent in larger leagues by making the first picks in the draft slightly less valuable.
  • There are 60 rounds in the Inaugural Draft
  • Round 1: 1-32
  • Round 2: 32-1
  • Round 3: 32-1
  • Round 4: 1-32
  • Round 5: 32-1
  • Round 6: 1-32, etc…

  • Each conference’s draft order will be determined randomly, and a randomizer determines if the AFC or NFC picks first in the inaugural draft
  • The two draft order lists will be merged with the winner of the AFC/NFC taking Round 1, Pick 1 (1.01), the loser taking (1.02) and so on until the order of all 32 teams is determined.  This ensures that no conference or an individual team is at any disadvantage in the inaugural draft.
  • The Myfantasyleague.com software randomizer will be used to determine Inaugural Draft order
  • Team owners can see the draft order once the league has been setup at myfantasyleague.com
  • Team owners are required to have an internet connection to submit their draft picks
  • Team owners may pre-draft players. The league drafting software allows for the submission of a list of draft picks prior to a team’s turn to pick. The software automatically selects the highest rated player on the submitted list when it is that team’s turn to pick. Pre-drafting is encouraged as a backup plan in case of technical difficulties and to reduce the time it takes to draft.
  • The draft consists of 60 rounds.  Veterans and Rookies are available in the Inaugural Draft. The Veteran Roster size may not exceed 65 players during the draft.  If you have acquired extra picks via trade, and you are at 65 players before the end of the draft, you must either demote players to the Taxi Squad and/or IR, or trade your extra draft picks to another team (if you do not have available Taxi Squad or IR spots).  If you are unable to demote or trade your picks the remaining picks will be skipped by the commissioner.
  • The draft timer is 4 hours (paused from 12 AM to 10 AM EST)
  • If the timer expires the pick will be made from the owner’s pre-draft list.  If there is no pre-draft selection made the pick will be skipped.  If the pick is skipped the next owner may make a selection.  The same as it works during the NFL Draft.
  • When the team with a skipped pick is ready to draft they need to email a list of 2-3 “available” players currently on the draft board, to commissioner@versusff.com and put the league AND team name in the subject line, along with “Skipped Pick” or provide the same information via a new message board post on the league site.
  • The draft timer is shortened to 3 hours from rounds 11-30, 2 hours from rounds 31-50, and 1 hour in rounds 51-60 If your time limit expires in rounds 1-60 you will be put on a warning. If there is a second instance during rounds 1-60 draft where your time limit expires without having made a selection, the commissioner will place your team on auto-draft. Once the owner returns, he must notify the commissioner to remove the auto-draft feature.  Timing out more than twice is unacceptable and not fair to your league mates.  Once a team times out three times they will be put on a 1 hour timer for the rest of the draft.
  • At his discretion the commissioner may pause the draft timer due to technical difficulties
  • At his discretion the commissioner may undo and/or correct draft picks if an owner error has been made. If the error can reasonably be corrected without impacting the draft substantially it may be corrected by the commissioner
  1. Rosters and Lineups
  • The roster minimum is a full starting lineup during the season (not necessarily upon completion of the Draft)
  • Roster Maximum is 53 players during the regular season.
  • The Taxi Squad Maximum is 7 players
  • The Roster Maximum is increased to 65 players during the Inaugural Draft and lasts until August 29th @ 10:00am EST.  At this time the rosters will need to be trimmed back down to 53
  • The Roster Maximum is increased to 65 players during the Annual Draft and lasts until August 29th @ 10:00am EST.  At this time the rosters will need to be trimmed back down to 53
  • There are 2 copies of each player per league, and each team may only have one copy of a player on his or her team.  The league software should prevent an owner from acquiring 2 copies, however there are occasional glitches in the system.
  • There are ten (10) IR (Injured Reserve) spots available
  • The Versus Ultimate GM starting lineup consists of 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 FLEX (RB/WR), 1 FLEX (WR/TE), 1 K, 1 DT, 2 DE, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S, 1 IDP-FLEX (DT/DE/LB/CB/S)
  • The deadline for submitting a starting lineup is at kickoff of each player’s game
  • After kickoff of each game, players are locked into or out of the starting lineup
  • If no lineup is submitted, the lineup shall default to last week’s submitted lineup
  • Intentionally submitting a less than optimal lineup (starting known injured players or benching star players) will result in the commissioner revising the lineup and may cause the owner to lose his rights to manage his team.  First offense will result in a written warning.  Second offense will result in the loss of a 1st Round draft pick in the annual draft.  Third offense will result in removal from the league
  • Owners must re-submit their lineup after making any transaction that removes a player from their previously submitted lineup, such as a trade or waiver move
  1. Dynasty Roster Carry-Overs and New Year
  • Teams may keep all players from last season’s roster as well as those that were placed on IR (Injured Reserve) and TS (Taxi Squad)
  • The roster maximum is not to be exceeded thus owners may keep as many players as the roster allows
  • Rosters will be expanded to 65 players in the offseason to allow for incoming players that will be acquired through the Annual Draft, and offseason roster moves and trades. Rosters will be expanded by the commissioner when the new season commences.  New season starts when the next year’s Myfantasyleague.com software upgrade is available.  This normally takes place at the end of February to beginning of March.  Players on IR must be activated at this time
  • Rosters will need to be trimmed back down to 53 by 10:00am on August 29th
  • New Year’s League Fee is due before April 1st; However if you intend to make any trades the new year’s league fee must be paid in full

5. TS (Taxi Squad)

  • Owners may designate 7 (seven) rookie players from their team to the TS (Taxi Squad) for developmental purposes, replacing any openings on the TS with rookies they draft or acquire in future years.
  • Players on the TS will be in addition to the 53 main roster players.
  • Players can only be placed on the TS if they were initially drafted in the Inaugural Draft, acquired via waivers, traded for and maintain DTS eligibility.  Players must be demoted before the taxi squad demotions deadline which typically happens towards the end of August.  Check the league calendar for exact date.
  • Each team owner is responsible for demoting their selections to the TS via league software before the taxi squad demotion deadline.
  • The end of TS demotions will be listed on the MFL League Calendar.  Once this date has passed, no more demotions to the TS will be allowed until the following year’s Annual Draft begins.
  • When a player is placed on the TS he can stay there for  up to 2 years.
  • At the end of the player’s 2nd NFL season, any player that is no longer eligible for the TS must be placed on the team’s active roster or waived. This will usually happen around the end of August when taxi squad demotions are closed.  The commissioner will note the due date on the League Calendar.
  • Only a rookie in his first year can be placed on your TS, not a 2nd year player who was never on any other roster previously. If an invalid player is placed on the TS, the following rules will be enforced:
    • Upon infraction the commissioner will move the invalid player back to the active roster
    • If the maximum active roster limit has been exceeded, the owner has 24 hours to make a cut of their choice and bring their roster back to the active roster limit
    • If no cut is made the commissioner will drop the invalid player
  • Once a player is activated from the TS to the active roster after the taxi squad demotion deadline, he is ineligible to return to the TS. This includes if the player is traded to another franchise or waived and subsequently picked up by another team.  Traded players may be placed on the TS if they were on the other teams TS when the trade was executed.
  • Players on the TS are not eligible to start a game until they are moved onto the active roster.
  1. IR (Injured Reserve)
  • There are ten (10) IR (Injured Reserve) spots available
  • To place a player on IR (Injured Reserve) the player’s official Injury Status must be “IR”
  • If a player is taken off IR by his NFL team, team owners must take the player off IR before submitting their weekly lineup
  • Players that are no longer on “IR” the following season must be moved to the active roster to be kept.
  1. Annual Draft
  • The Annual Draft will be used for the drafting of incoming rookie players only.
  • The draft is conducted on the myfantasyleague.com league website
  • All Annual Drafts will be held from May 15th to July 15th. Dates yet TBD (to be determined).  We will try and accommodate each league as best as we can for draft date convenience.
  • All Annual Drafts will be Slow Email Draft format
  • The Annual Draft will consist of seven (7) rounds
  • Each team must have a valid roster before the draft starts.  IE: No players on IR and rosters set at or under maximum roster limit
  • Teams can choose to have picks skipped by commissioner if they choose to do so
  • The draft order will be set based on non-playoff teams’ POTENTIAL POINTS scored during the regular season
      • Non-playoff teams secure picks #1 through #20
      • Draft picks #21 through #32 will be determined on how the playoff teams finish (see Tiebreaker rules below under “Playoffs”)
  • The draft order will be from worst to first for all rounds
  • Team owners are required to have an internet connection to submit their draft picks
  • The draft timer is set for four (4) hours per pick, but is paused between 12:00am EST and 10:00am EST
  • If the timer expires the pick will be made from the owner’s pre-draft list.  If there is no pre-draft pick made the pick will be skipped.  If the pick is skipped the next owner may make a selection.  The same as it works during the NFL Draft.
  • When the team with a skipped pick is ready to draft they need to email a list of 2-3 “available” players currently on the draft board, to commissioner@versusfantasyfootball.com and put the league AND team name in the subject line, along with “Skipped Pick” or provide the same information via a new message board post on the league site.
  • At his discretion, the commissioner may pause the draft timer due to technical difficulties
  • At his discretion the commissioner may undo and/or correct draft picks if an owner error has been made. If the error can reasonably be corrected without impacting the draft substantially it may be corrected by the commissioner
  • Draft Picks may be traded up to two years in advance. The league rollover in the February/March signifies the start of the new year.  Two years of future picks may be traded from this point
  • If the following years draft picks are traded the following years league fee must be paid in full at this time
  • The day after the Inaugural Draft/Annual draft are finished, BB Waivers will commence @ 10:00am EST.  BB Waivers will automatically be processed by the league software @ 3:00pm EST on the next closest Wednesday, and then the FCFS (First Come, First Served) waiver period begins.  The FCFS waivers run until the next closest Sunday.  This BB and FCFS waiver period will happen once a month until the week before NFL Week 1 kickoff
  • After Week 1 kickoff team owners may submit their bids between 1:00pm EST Sunday, and 3:00pm EST Wednesday each week
  • The league software will automatically process the bids shortly after 3:00pm EST each Wednesday.  The FCFS waiver period will commence at this time, and end at 1:00pm EST Sunday kickoff
  1. Scoring
  • Decimal scoring is used to help prevent ties
  • Individual players may score negative points for negative yardage
  • The NFL finalizes stats approximately 1 hour after the Monday night game. If the NFL makes any further changes after stats are finalized, Versus will not change any stats or scores.

  1. Trades
  • Team owners may propose trades to other team owners via the league website
  • Inaugural Draft Picks, future draft picks, and drafted players MAY BE TRADED before and during the Inaugural Draft.  However the trades MUST have no more than ten (10) draft picks and/or players per team.  Trades involving more than 10 picks or players per side will be automatically rejected by the commissioner.
  • Future draft picks, and drafted players MAY BE TRADED after the Inaugural Draft.  However the trades MUST have no more than ten (10) draft picks and/or players per team.  Trades involving more than 10 picks or players per side will be automatically rejected by the commissioner.
  • The owner receiving the proposal may accept the trade via the league website
  • The owner proposing the trade may revoke the proposal prior to the other owner accepting it
  • Once the receiving owner accepts the trade the league website will automatically update the rosters upon commissioner approval.
  • A player cannot be traded if his game has started for the week
  • It is highly recommended that owners set the expiration date of trade offers to be at least 60 minutes before kickoff of any player’s game so that lineup adjustments can be made if trade is accepted
  • The commissioner will not manually correct lineups due to owner error in making trades that result in unwanted lineup
  • If a trade is mistakenly accepted contact the commissioner within 60 minutes of error occurring.  commissioner@versusfantasyfootball.com – It is also a good idea to post the error on the message board and contact the other owner to notify them about the mistake
  • The Commissioner has the right to veto trades in the event that collusion is suspected or that a trade is deemed competitively unbalanced.  ALL TRADES ARE REVIEWED AND PROCESSED OR REJECTED BY THE LEAGUE COMMISSIONER.  ALL TRADES GO THROUGH A 3-STAGE PROPRIETARY APPROVAL SYSTEM BEFORE APPROVAL OR REJECTION
  • For purpose of the leagues collusion is defined as “a trade in which one of the owners knowingly and purposefully aids another owner without benefit to his own team”
  • Unbalanced trades may be allowed provided collusion isn’t suspected, upon Commissioner approval
  • Owners may protest a trade to the commissioner but the Commissioner makes the sole decision on allowing or vetoing the trade.  If a trade is protested it must be done in a timely manner and/or within a reasonable amount of time as to not effect an Inaugural or Annual Draft.  Protests must be made within 60 minutes of the trade being processed by the commissioner.  If a protest is made during a draft the protest must be done in a timely manner as to not effect the flow and/or results of the said draft, and as determined by the commissioner
  • To protest a trade post a topic on the message board.  Do not use the league chat to protest a trade.  Once a protest topic is made the commissioner will create a league poll in which owners must cast a vote in favor or against the trade.  At least 28 of the 32 teams must cast a vote.  The commissioner will take the results from the poll in order to make a final decision on whether said trade should be held up or reversed.
  • The trading deadline is prior to the Sunday kickoff of week 10
  1. Waiver System
  • Versus Fantasy Football uses a BB (Blind Bidding) waiver system
  • Team owners bid for free agents
  • Any player not currently on an active league roster is a free agent
  • Free agent pickups are unlimited
  • Players picked up are available immediately for that week’s games or for trade
  • Each team is allotted 1,000 BB Dollars at the beginning of the season
  • No additional BB Dollars will be allotted during the course of the season
  • Unused credits carry over to the following season
  • BB Dollars CAN be traded
  • The earliest submitted bid wins a tie-bid situation
  • Teams can submit as many bids as they choose
  • Your top players bid at each position can exceed your blind bidding dollars available. The computer will limit your second, or third, etc… player’s bid to the blind bidding dollars available if your bids exceeded your available funds
  • If you wish to receive one player over another you must submit a higher bid on that player as there is no priority when submitting your bids
  • The Commissioner will not correct improperly placed bids/dropped players after the bids have been processed. Even if it’s obvious as to the intention; However, from time to time a mistake can be made such as clicking a wrong button when dropping a player.  If this happens notify the commissioner within 60 minutes.  If the dropped player gets awarded to a new team during the blind bidding process the transaction is FINAL
  • Consult the Blind Bidding Help Page for helpful information on how Blind Bids are processed
  • Dropped Players are locked until 1:00pm EST on Sunday (until next week’s BB period)
  • Players that are picked up and dropped during the same FCFS period may be unlocked with an owner’s request to the Commissioner. This prevents owners from picking up and dropping a lot of players just to lock them from opponents
  • The blind bidding, and/or free agency pickup periods are open throughout the entire season including the playoffs
  • A League Calendar is available on each league’s myfantasyleague.com page which outlines the dates and times that transactions may take place
  • The commissioner has the right to freeze the roster of an owner that intentionally drops players for the purposes of sabotaging the league

  1. Versus Ultimate GM League Fees, Abandoned Teams, and Replacement Owners
  • 1st and 2nd year’s league fees are due upon the time of signup.  After the inaugural year you will pay each following season one year in advance.  This is to help ensure our owners are in it for the long haul.  League fees are not refundable should an owner decide to leave the league.

  • If a team is abandoned mid-year the Commissioner will set the roster using the best of his judgment each week
  • If an abandoned team wins any prize(s) the money will be carried over to the next year’s prize fund
  • The commissioner will make every effort to fill the abandoned team(s) in order to maintain the league
  • If only one team needs an owner that owner will take over the abandoned team’s roster and draft picks.  The new owner will have the chance to pick up as many free agents for the first week he or she is part of the league.  The new owner still has to abide by the roster limits during this time, so drops may need to be made in order to accommodate the new acquisitions.  Replacement owners get this opportunity whether it is in-season, or during the offseason.  Incoming rookies may not be added unless the Annual Draft has already been completed.
  • There will be a dispersal draft if two or more owners are needed.  If one owner decides he/she wants to keep the existing roster there will not be a dispersal draft. (NEW 3/31/2016)
    • All Players and picks of the abandoned teams will be dispersed into the draft pool
    • Rookie Draft picks from Rounds 2 to 7 will be drafted as ONE set of draft picks.  A draft pick package MUST be drafted by all owners at some point in the draft.  These draft pick sets may be drafted at any time during the draft.  These draft picks may not be traded until the dispersal draft is completed.
    • All available 1st Round Rookie picks will be drafted and selected as individual draft picks
    • Replacement owner draft picks cannot be traded.   Any current/future draft picks cannot be traded until after the replacement owner draft is complete
    • Replacement Owners may demote any 2nd year player they acquire through the replacement draft onto their Taxi Squads.  This must be completed before the Annual Draft commences
    • The draft will commence either one week after NFL free agency has commenced, or when last abandoned team is taken and paid for.  Which ever comes later.
    • The Annual Rookie Draft will be delayed until the dispersal draft is completed
    • A 60 Round, Third Round Reversal (3RR) will be held on a duplicate site with draft order determined randomly.
    • All players in the free agency pool are available to draft
    • There is no draft timer set during the dispersal draft.  Please keep the other owners in mind, and make your picks in a timely manner
